Voice to text keyboard for iPhone

Speak anywhere. Paste polished text where you type.

Use Airtxt from a text field on your iPhone or iPad. Speak in On-device or Cloud mode, let Airtxt clean the transcript, and insert the result without retyping it.

Start with Siri or the Action Button

Launch Dictate with Airtxt from Siri, Shortcuts, or a supported iPhone Action Button.

How it works

A short, honest workflow.

  1. 01Enable the Airtxt keyboard in iOS Settings and grant the access it needs to exchange finished text with the main app.
  2. 02Tap the Airtxt microphone from a text field. If a session is not active, iOS opens Airtxt so you can start one, then you swipe back to the app where you were typing.
  3. 03Speak, stop from the keyboard, and review the text before sending it.

Know before you start

The keyboard extension cannot record audio by itself. iOS requires the Airtxt app to hold the microphone, so the first dictation in a session may include an app-open and swipe-back step.

Common questions

Can an iPhone keyboard use the microphone directly?

No. iOS does not give custom keyboard extensions microphone access. Airtxt records in the main app and passes finished text to its keyboard through Apple's App Group mechanism.

Does it replace the normal keyboard?

You can switch between Airtxt and your other installed keyboards with the globe key whenever you want.
