How it works

A short, honest workflow.

  1. 01Choose On-device in Airtxt and select a language model available on your device.
  2. 02Speak normally or quietly. Apple transcribes the audio locally and Airtxt keeps the raw text recoverable.
  3. 03Choose whether to keep the raw transcript or apply hosted or bring-your-own-key cleanup to the text.

Know before you start

On-device language availability depends on Apple speech models installed for your device and iOS version. If you choose Airtxt-hosted cleanup, transcript text is sent securely for cleanup, but your audio is not.

Common questions

Does On-device mode work without a connection?

Speech transcription can work without a network once Apple's required model is available. Hosted AI cleanup still needs a connection; you can keep the raw local transcript when it is unavailable.

Can I whisper?

Airtxt can capture quiet speech in suitable conditions. Microphone distance, background noise, and the installed Apple model still affect accuracy, so review important text.
