Privacy Policy
Effective June 29, 2026
aistardev LLC, doing business as airtxt (“airtxt,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), operates the airtxt.ai website and the airtxt iOS application. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email us at privacy@airtxt.ai.
1. The short version
- On-device mode: audio never leaves your iPhone. No audio data is sent to us or any third party.
- Cloud mode: audio is sent to Deepgram for transcription and immediately discarded. We receive only the resulting text.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use your dictations or transcripts to train AI models.
- Meeting transcripts are stored only if you save them. You can delete them at any time.
2. Information we collect
2a. Information you provide
- Account information: email address when you join the waitlist or create an account.
- Custom vocabulary: words and phrases you add to improve transcription accuracy. Stored on our servers to sync across devices.
- Meeting transcripts: when you save a transcript from the meeting bot, we store it on your behalf so you can review it later. You control this data and can delete it at any time.
- Support communications: emails you send to hi@airtxt.ai or privacy@airtxt.ai.
2b. Information collected automatically
- Usage data: aggregate, non-identifiable metrics such as number of dictation sessions, session length, and feature usage. We use this to improve the product.
- Crash reports: anonymized crash logs to help us fix bugs. These do not include audio or transcribed text.
- Device information: iOS version, device model, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
2c. What we do NOT collect
- Audio recordings in on-device mode — processing happens entirely on your device.
- The content of your dictated text unless you explicitly save it (e.g., as a meeting transcript).
- Your contacts, calendar events, messages, or any other app data.
2d. The keyboard extension and Full Access
airtxt's keyboard asks you to turn on Full Access in Settings › Keyboards. iOS requires this permission for any custom keyboard that needs to share data with its containing app. We use it so the keyboard can tell the main airtxt app to start or stop a dictation session, and to receive the cleaned-up text once it's ready, through a private App Group container that only airtxt can read.
The keyboard itself never records audio and cannot access your microphone — Apple does not allow custom keyboards to do this. All recording, transcription, and AI cleanup happen in the main airtxt app, described above. Full Access does not give the keyboard access to anything else on your device, and it does not send anything over the network on its own.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and improve the airtxt service.
- To send transactional emails (waitlist confirmation, TestFlight invite, account-related notices).
- To respond to support requests and questions you send us.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share or sell your data to data brokers or advertising networks.
4. Third-party services
Speech-to-text (cloud mode only)
When cloud mode is enabled, audio is transmitted to Deepgram for transcription. Deepgram processes audio under their own privacy policy and does not retain audio beyond the transcription request. airtxt receives only the resulting text. In on-device mode, Deepgram is not used.
Meeting bot
Meeting transcription is powered by Recall.ai. When you start a meeting bot session, the bot joins your call on your behalf. Audio from the call is processed by Recall.ai under their data processing terms. Transcripts are returned to airtxt and stored only if you save them.
AI text cleanup
Transcribed text is sent to Anthropic (Claude API) for cleanup and formatting. Anthropic processes this text under their API usage policies. Text submitted via API is not used by Anthropic to train their models.
Infrastructure
The airtxt backend and database run on Supabase (Postgres, hosted on AWS) and are deployed via Vercel. Both providers maintain SOC 2 Type II certifications.
Payments
Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe. iOS subscriptions are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. Neither airtxt nor any subprocessor stores your full payment card number.
5. Data retention
- Account data: retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion.
- Meeting transcripts: retained until you delete them. You can delete individual transcripts or all transcripts from within the app.
- Custom vocabulary: retained until you remove entries or delete your account.
- Usage metrics: aggregated and anonymized; retained indefinitely.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other applicable law. In all cases, you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and associated data.
- Export your meeting transcripts and custom vocabulary.
- Object to processing or withdraw consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@airtxt.ai. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Children
airtxt is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including TLS encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorized personnel only. We conduct regular security reviews.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
