THE AIRTXT BLOG · IPHONE DICTATION

AI dictation for iPhone, with more built in

Your next email, the idea you want to keep, and the meeting you cannot attend should not each need a different voice app.

airtxt brings voice typing, Memo, and a meeting bot together on your iPhone. Speak a reply where you are already writing. Capture a thought for later. Send a bot to an online meeting and review the transcript and follow-up draft afterward.

You also get a choice about where dictation audio is processed: on your iPhone or in the cloud. That combination makes airtxt worth considering when you want more from an AI dictation app than text in a box.

How airtxt compares

If you are looking for a Wispr Flow alternative, compare what matters for your iPhone workflow: control over audio, how meetings are captured, and what you pay month to month.

Comparison checked September 16, 2026. Both products offer free plans; Wispr also offers annual billing. Plans have different features and allowances. airtxt prices refer to the US App Store and may vary by country. This is a feature comparison by the airtxt team, not a speed or accuracy benchmark.

Keep dictation audio on your iPhone

With airtxt's on-device mode, your speech is transcribed locally. You do not have to upload dictation audio to turn it into text. Cloud transcription is there when you want to use it.

The distinction matters: on-device audio is not the same as an entirely offline workflow. AI cleanup sends the transcribed text for cloud processing. Meeting capture is a separate cloud workflow too. You can read the details in our FAQ and privacy policy.

What airtxt gives you is a practical choice about the audio you create, with a clear explanation of what happens next.

Write now. Save the thought for later.

Some things you say belong in a message. Others need somewhere to wait.

Use the airtxt keyboard when you are replying to an email or writing in an app that accepts it. Use Memo when an idea arrives before you have a place to put it. The cleaned text is ready to copy, paste, and come back to later.

A project update can become a message. A rough idea can become a saved note. A thought between appointments can become the opening of tomorrow's draft. You stay in one app for capture instead of maintaining separate tools for each task.

Add the names, acronyms, and terms you use regularly to custom vocabulary. It is included on the Free plan. As with other third-party keyboards, iOS limits where the airtxt keyboard can appear, including password fields. Our setup guide explains the permissions and workflow.

Let a meeting bot capture the conversation

Paste a supported meeting link into airtxt and its bot joins as a participant. It captures the call, labels speakers in the transcript, and prepares a follow-up email draft for you to review.

That is useful when you are double-booked or cannot be at your computer for the call. Capture does not depend on recording your own computer's audio. The host may still need to admit the bot, and a bot that is not admitted cannot record the meeting.

Make sure participants agree to recording and AI processing. Afterward, check the transcript and edit the follow-up before sending it. airtxt gives you a starting point for the next step, while you stay in control of what goes out.

More in your monthly plan

airtxt Pro is $9.99 per month. It includes 5 hours of meeting-bot time each month, cloud transcription with a fair-use allowance of approximately 300 minutes per month, and AI cleanup subject to fair use.

For heavier meeting use, Pro+ is $19.99 per month with 15 hours of meeting-bot time. These are monthly subscriptions purchased in the iPhone app through Apple. See all plan details.

You can start with Free: on-device dictation, custom vocabulary, and 2,000 words of AI cleanup per week. The meeting bot and cloud transcription are paid-plan features.

Put airtxt to work on your next message

Start with something you would otherwise type: a reply, a short email, or a note with a few names you use often. Try the same thought in Memo when you want to save it rather than send it.

airtxt is built for people who want their voice to carry more of the writing, capture, and follow-up work on an iPhone. You can try its core dictation workflow on the Free plan.
